سجود السهو والتلاوة والشكر
‘Abdullāh ibn Ja‘far (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has doubts concerning his prayer should make two prostrations after he makes Taslīm."
عن عبد الله بن جعفر-رضي الله عنهما-، أن رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قال: «من شك في صلاته فليسجد سجدتين بعدما يسلم».
شرح الحديث :
This Hadīth clarifies that whoever has doubts that he did something extra in his prayer or missed something therein should make two prostrations of forgetfulness after he ends the prayer with Taslīm. This Hadīth is weak; however, the authentic Sunnah is that when a person has doubts about his prayer and continues it based on what he believes to be most likely correct, he should make two prostrations of forgetfulness after he ends the prayer with Taslīm. If he ends the prayer then remembers that he missed something in it and makes up for what he missed, then he has to prostrate for forgetfulness after Taslīm as well. In cases other than these, he should prostrate before he makes Taslīm.
