Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Umm Ar-Rubay‘ bint al-Barā', mother of Hārithah ibn Surāqah, came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, will you not tell me about Hārithah (who was killed in the battle of Badr)? If he is in Paradise, I shall be patient; otherwise, I shall exert myself weeping over him." He said: "O mother of Hārithah, there are gardens of various ranks in Paradise, and your son has attained the Firdaus.”

Mother of Hārithah (may Allah be pleased with her) came asking about the status of her son after the fighting had ended. If he attained Paradise, she would be patient and wait for the reward from Allah; otherwise, she would weep bitterly over his death as most women do. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) gave her the glad tidings that her son is in Paradise and that he attained the highest level therein – the Firdaus.
