A rule of the ꜤUthmānī handwriting. It means splitting a word from what comes after it, or joining the word to it. For example, ‘am’ is separated from ‘man’ in ‘am man yakūn Ꜥalayhim’ (4: 109), but the two words are written as one word in ‘amman hādha’ (67: 20 and 21).
