the leap (الطَّفْرة)

To claim that something may be in place one and then be in place ten without passing through the intervening places, and without being non-existent in the first and repeated in the tenth. This is attributed to al-Naẓẓām Ibrāhīm ibn Sayyār (died 231 AH 846 CE). No one said this before him and some people considered it most remarkable.
