The proper way of killing an animal so as to make it permissible to eat, whether by cutting its neck, slaughter, stab or hunting.

The Shariah-approved means (slaughtering) that makes eating a terrestrial animal whose consumption is allowable permissible.
الشرح المختصر :
"Tadhkiyah" (slaughtering), or "dhakāh", is the Shariah-approved means that makes eating a terrestrial animal whose consumption is allowable permissible. "Tadhkiyah" is a general word that includes three more specific types: 1. and 2. It is termed "dhabh" and "nahr" when the slaughtered animal is domesticated or wild but controllable. 3. It is termed "‘aqr" when the animal is wild and uncontrollable.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر :
"Tadhkiyah": derived from "dhakāh", which lexically means completion and ending. Thus, slaughtering is called "tadhkiyah" and "dhakāh" because it completes or ends the process that makes eating an animal permissible.
