The seven main reciters: NāfiꜤ of Madinah, ꜤAbdullāh ibn Kathīr of Makkah, Abu ꜤAmr of Basra, Ibn ꜤĀmir of Syria, ꜤĀṣim ibn Abi al-Najūd, Ḥamzah al-Zayyāt and ꜤAlī al-Kisāʾī’ all three of Kufah.
