المعنى الاصطلاحي :


A unit of measuring weight equal to 72 medium-sized grains of barley, equivalent to 4.24 grams.

الشرح المختصر :


"Mithqāl" (unit of weight) is a unit of measuring weight that is equal to the weight of 72 full grains of barley. It is roughly equivalent to 4.24 grams, which is also the weight of a pure gold dinar or one and 3/7 of a dirham. The weight of the "mithqāl" is the same in both the pre-Islamic and the Islamic era.

"Mithqāl": a known measure of weight, whether large or small. It is used in particular to mean a dinar of gold. Derived from "thiqal", which means heaviness.
