المعنى الاصطلاحي :


The affirmation of parentage and attribution of the child to the father, which could be done on account of a valid reason to establish paternity, such as a valid marriage and the like.

الشرح المختصر :


"Luhooq" (ascription) in its general sense, denotes the attribution of something to something else; it is of two types: 1. Actual "luhooq": as is the case when someone joins a community in any given country. 2. "Luhooq" according to a Shariah ruling: as in the case of establishing paternity of the child to his father for any of the reasons entailing the affirmation of parentage, such as a valid or defective marriage, his acknowledgment, or the like.
