Acquired Knowledge (عِلْمٌ مُكْتَسَبٌ)
أصول الفقه
المعنى الاصطلاحي :
Knowledge that is acquired through investigation and logical inference.
الشرح المختصر :
"`Ilm muqtasab", or acquired knowledge, is knowledge that is reached by one of three means: what a person hears (or reads), such as the Quran and the Sunnah, or through rational proof, or through the senses. The opposite is "`ilm daroori" or "`ilm nazhari", which is knowledge that cannot be attained by created beings.
