التعريف :


Leaves of the nabq tree. They are ground and put in water which is then shaken and used like soap.

المعنى الاصطلاحي :


A plant that is ground up and used in washing clothes, hands, etc.

التعريف اللغوي المختصر :


"Ushnān" or "ishnān": a plant that grows in sandy soil and is used, as well as its ashes, in washing clothes and hands. Originally a Persian word, it is known in Arabic as "hurd".
