الشرح المختصر :
"Nasab" (lineage) is a term that covers all close and distant relatives through one's father or mother, whether one can marry or not. A group of jurists make the term exclusive to paternal relatives only. "Nasab" has two causes: 1. Marriage: It is divided into valid and invalid marriage, along with the intercourse that occurs mistakenly while believing that it is lawful. 2. "Isteelād" (claim of offspring): This is when a Muslim has a child born to him of a female slave and he acknowledges it as his own, thereby affirming the child's lineage.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر :
"Nasab": kinship. Original meaning: something connected with another.
